We offer a plethora of individual, small group and whole group tutorial opportunities guaranteed to improve academic performance and standardized test scores. We meet students where they are. Each student will be administered a baseline assessment to determine their specific academic needs. A post assessment will be administered at the conclusion of all sessions.

We offer a series of college preparatory courses and career certifications to ensure youth are college and career ready.

Retention Prevention

Our signature “Retention Prevention” program was created by our President, Mrs. Ateya Ball-Lacy as an action research project implemented at the middle school level to reduce a growing retention rate. This comprehensive school-wide initiative has proven results. Our aggressive approach to Retention Prevention reduced a school’s retention data above 90% within a two-year margin. If you have a need to reduce your school’s retention data, this program is for a must for you.

Youth Pop-Up STEAM Lecture & Competition Party!

This is definitely among our most popular programs. This event is designed to get students excited about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). We will turn your school auditorium into an innovative STEAM Lab! Students compete in fun STEAM challenges, win PRIZES and dance to the beats of a live DJ! Students meet minority STEAM experts and mentors from medical, tech, engineering, aviation and performing arts programs and companies. This program gives students an opportunity to demonstrate their academic prowess in a fun, learning environment! We have partnered with the National Smithsonian Museum of African Art, The Marion Barry Youth Leadership Institute and the City of Laurel Maryland, so far bringing this experience to over 2000 youth!

School Based Staff Development Training

We offer multiple highly effective professional development training for elementary and secondary educators in both public and private institutions. We provide training in all core content areas to enhance the pedagogy of classroom teachers and instructional leaders. Our training model includes strategies and tools educators need to enhance their content pedagogy and a step by step process outlining how to build students’ intrinsic motivation to master core content that is aligned to the Common Core Standards through culturally responsive, engaging and personally relevant lessons that have real-world applications.

SPEACIAL OFFER

Writing for Publication Seminar- An Exploration of the Washington City Paper’s “An Ode to Shaw Junior High School” This seminar is designed for middle and high school honors students. Our founder, former English teacher and middle school Assistant Principal, Ateya Ball-Lacy uses her article, “An Ode to Shaw Junior High School” as a tool to teach a dual lesson in DC history and journalism. At the end of this 3-hour session, students will have a firsthand experience of what life was like growing up in “Chocolate City” during the 1980s and the tools needed to write a passionate piece of work for publication.

Special Education

Effective co-teaching models for general and special educators to create a productive inclusion classroom.This training outlines the roles and responsibilities of the general education teacher and the special education teacher. Facilitators will introduce and model multiple co-teacher models and explore strategies for how to work collaboratively and effectively in a classroom setting. The desired outcome of this training is seamless co-teaching instruction that leads to increased student performance.

Writing an efficient IEP with producible results in one year.This workshop provides special educators with a step by step process for how to write an efficient IEP with realistic goals designed to increase student performance within a calendar school year.

Creating productive collaboration amongst service providers and special education teachers.Through on-going observations, hands-on experience and action research we have identified co-teacher relationships to be the most productive when teachers are provided clear and concise expectations for how to work in a collaborative setting. This training provides co-teacher teams strategies for how to move through a collaborative planning cycle that includes lesson planning, review of student artifacts, data analysis and teacher reflection.

Running a seamless IEP team meeting.This professional development training will provide the IEP team and stakeholders strategies for how to run a seamless IEP meeting that gives all participants a sound voice in the development and review of students’ Individualized Education Plans.

Strategies for general educators on how to administer IEP goals through accommodations and modification during instruction. This training outlines specific strategies for how to modify instructional delivery without compromising students’ access to the curriculum and rigorous instruction.
